HW 5k/10k Wrap-up

Well, it was a little sticky out there, but overall we had a great day at the 2nd annual Hawthorn Woods 5k/10k.  Full results can be found at www.racetime.info.  Congratulations to our four overall winners!

Thank you again to all of those who participated, as well as our volunteers and sponsors, who helped make this such a great day.  We look forward to bringing this event to you next year and including as part of a new 2010 3-2-1Go! event series.

Bat Cave 8k

Registration is open for the second annual Bat Cave 8K (Register)!  The second annual Bat Cave 8k will again take place at the Lakewood Forest Preserve in Wauconda.  This will be the same challenging 8k course as in 2008.  A kid's fun run will also be included with the event.

Hawthorn Woods 1/2 Marathon:

We had not yet opened registration as there were a number of things to be resolved in order to put on this event.  As we are only two months away from the target date, I am not comfortable that everything will be resolved in a timely manner so that we may put on a quality event for all of you.  This event will move to April/May 2010 and registration will open by fall of this year.

I have had a number of inquiries about this event and I appreciate all of the interest.  It goes to show that this area would really welcome an event of this distance and 3-2-1Go! will bring it to you in Spring 2010.  Additionally, this time period allows for an event of this distance during a time when not as many 1/2 marathons are occurring in the area.

2010 Event Series

With he addition of the Hawthorn Woods 1/2 Marathon in 2010, 3-2-1Go! will present its first event series to minimally include the Hawthorn Woods 1/2 Marathon, Hawthorn Woods 5k/10k and the Bat Cave 8k.  The series will be based on a point system by place taken in each event and prizes will be awarded to top series finishers.
